Highway Stripers, Equipment Operators, Paint Truck Drivers

Specialized Pavement Marking, Inc., a leading Oregon based highway pavement marking company, is seeking Highway Stripers, Equipment Operators and Paint Truck Drivers to join our team. Private wage is negotiable depending on experience. The majority of projects are prevailing wage work with current wages ranging between $27.33 and $49.97 per hour including fringe benefits. SPM Benefits include 401k plan, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Job requires travel, with employer paid expenses, and daily per diem for out-of-town work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lift, carry, load and unload various construction items including pavement marking supplies, signs, etc.; prepare, clean and sweep work area; operate equipment to place pavement marking material on pavement; operate grinder to remove old lines and pavement markings; install marking; apply and remove temporary and permanent marking; set up and remove construction signs and traffic control items at job site. 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job site; clean grinders and paint machines; install, remove and reset delineators, signs, posts and supports; general maintenance and repair of equipment; other work related duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS 
Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in the position is qualifying. A typical combination includes: knowledge and use of motorized equipment and basic maintenance procedures; occupational hazards and safety practices related to roadway work zones, equipment and materials used in markings, and safety procedures for securing and transporting cargo.  Candidates must possess good knowledge of state and local roadways and have experience with operating vehicles of varying sizes; communicate reports and evaluations effectively both orally and in writing. 

REQUIREMENTS
Experience:  Construction background. 
Driver’s License:  Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record; CDL preferred

Work is primarily performed in an outdoor setting with exposure to the elements on or around loud machinery. There is frequent need to walk, talk, see, hear or drive, ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and perform other similar actions during course of the workday.

Hydro-Blaster Operator / Construction Highway Striper

Specialized Pavement Marking, Inc., a leading highway pavement marking company, located in Auburn, WA, is seeking a Hydro-Blaster operator to join our team. Private wage is negotiable depending on experience. Prevailing wage rates with fringe benefits. Benefits include a 401k plan, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. A typical combination includes: knowledge and use of Hydro-Blaster and basic maintenance procedures; occupational hazards and safety practices related to roadway work zones, equipment and materials used in pavement markings and the removal of pavement marking. 

Candidates must possess good knowledge of state and local roadways and have experience with operating vehicles of varying sizes; communicate reports and be able to use the ELD provided in each DOT piece of equipment. 

 

REQUIREMENTS
Experience:  Hydro-Blasting Operations, Highway Striping Experience
Driver’s License:  Class A CDL with Tanker & HAZMAT endorsement and clean driving record

Traffic Control Supervisor  / Highway Striper  -  Auburn, WA

Specialized Pavement Marking, Inc. is seeking a Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) to add to our highway construction team. This position will also require duties of a construction highway striper which can be taught with on-site training during the course of employment.

Work is performed in an outdoor setting with exposure to the elements, on or around loud machinery. This position could often include long hours of bending, stooping and walking.

Qualifications

  • Must have current Washington TCS Card and minimum 2 years’ experience as a TCS.

  • Applicants must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test prior to hiring.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Salary and Classification
Private wage is negotiable and depending on experience. The majority of projects are prevailing wage work with current wages ranging from $27.00 - $47.00 per hour with hourly prevailing wage fringe benefits. Traveling is a requirement for all applicants; a daily per diem is paid to employee and hotel expenses are employer paid for all out-of-town work.  SPM benefits include: 401k plan, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance policy through our company's benefit plans.

Shop Mechanic - Tualatin, OR

Immediate opening for a full-time experienced Equipment Shop Mechanic for a large highway striping and pavement marking company in Tualatin, Oregon. Career minded and goal-oriented individuals willing to make a long-term commitment will appreciate the vibrant and challenging opportunities this growing company has to offer.


Duties may include but are not limited to
  • Maintenance and repairs of highway striping equipment and fleet vehicles

  • Basic welding and fabrication skills

  • Perform road tests on vehicles in order to assure proper operating levels

  • Occasional service and repair of equipment in the field and out-ot-town; paid at prevailing wage and company paid expenses

  • Position will require periodic overtime

  • Repair gasoline, diesel, and propane powered equipment and vehicles, and all related components including transmissions, brakes, drive trains, cooling and electrical systems

  • Unusual or difficult repair tasks

  • Perform diagnostic inspections on equipment to identify electrical, mechanical, or other problems 

  • Communicate with equipment operators or supervisors, drive and operate vehicles, or use diagnostic test equipment to identify problems

  • Repair smaller equipment such as pumps, small engines, or compressors

  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment

Qualifications

  • Class A CDL (Hazmat & Tanker endorsements to be obtained within 90 days of hire)

  • 10 years diesel mechanic, hydraulic and electrical experience

  • Heavy Equipment experience

  • Personal Hand Tools Required including a locking rollaway toolbox

  • Clean driving record

  • Extensive knowledge of the methods and tools used in the repair of gasoline, diesel, or propane maintenance, pumps, and grinding machines

  • Excellent problem solving abilities -- identify and resolve problems timely; gather and analyze information skillfully; demonstrate accuracy, use time efficiently and complete projects on time

  • Adaptability -- Ability to easily flow between tasks performed in a shop setting or operations conducted in the field with crews on job sites. Must be able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events and manage the competing demands and multiple tasks generated in a changing work environment

  • Good oral and written communication skills lend to the high level of professionalism and teamwork expected in this position

 Salary and Classification:

  • Competitive wage based on experience ($35.00 - $38.00 per hour, DOE)
